Aromatic Description: Like so many other essential oils, thyme oil has been used for centuries. The ancient Egyptians used it to prepare their dead for the afterlife, and the ancient Greeks and Romans used it to make incense and freshen their homes and places of worship. In the middle ages, it was a common practice to place a sprig of thyme underneath pillows at night to promote good dreams.
While we can’t promise that our thyme essential oil will brighten your dreams or make you feel any more sacred than you already do, it just might. The scent is powerful and immediate, with a green herbaceousness that can’t be mistaken for anything other than what it is. There is speculation that the word “thyme” stems from the Greek word for “courage,” and certainly this oil will fill your days with bold strength and your nights with peaceful restfulness. It’s warm, earthy, and therapeutic without being overly medicinal.
Blends Well With: Bergamot, Marjoram, Pine, Sage, Cypress, Grapefruit, Chamomile, Juniper, Mandarin, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Lemon, Rosemary, Oregano, Tea Tree, and Cedarwood Essential Oils
Directions For Use: Add 5 to 6 drops of oil to bath water. Use in our PURE-OMA diffuser. Apply to pulse points, temples, behind the ears, or anywhere the body is holding tension. Oil can also be added to PureomEO™ carrier oils for use on skin.
