Aromatic Description: The therapeutic use of Frankincense is a tradition with thousands of years of history and wisdom behind it. The Babylonians burned Frankincense in religious ceremonies, and the ancient Egyptians used Frankincense to make salves for soothing skin. For many of us, our first introduction to Frankincense came in the story of the nativity when the Maji thought it a fitting gift for a king. 

For an oil connected to so many old traditions, Frankincense’s jaunty, abundant freshness is a little counterintuitive at first. It’s instantaneously fruity with the sweet crispness of green apples and the tart bite of lemon. Lush notes of pine balsam and needles float just under the surface, and resin gives the scent body, a grounding base for the greener and juicier notes to hang on. There is something regal and decadent about the complex layering of aromas, and it becomes clear why Frankincense has so often been dubbed the king of oils.  

Blends Well With: Lime, Cypress, Lemon, Rose, Orange, Lavender, Geranium, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Clary Sage, Myrrh, Cedarwood, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Neroli, Patchouli, Pine, and Vetiver Essential Oils

Directions For Use: Add 5 to 6 drops of oil to bath water. Use in our PURE-OMA diffuser. Apply to pulse points, temples, behind the ears, or anywhere the body is holding tension. Oil can also be added to PureomEO™ carrier oils for use on skin.
